Societal Challenges

Horizon 2020 reflects the political priorities of the Europe 2020 strategy and addresses the main  concerns of the citizens from Europe and other regions. The challenge-based approach will unite resources and knowledge of different areas, technologies and disciplines, including social sciences and humanities. This will meet the research activities at the market with a new focus on activities related to innovation such as piloting, demonstration, test stands and the support of public procurement and its commercial launching. This will also include establishing linkages with activities of the European Innovation Partnerships (EIP).
